Looking for participation! Food Freedom Day is the day when the average Canadian has earned enough income to pay for his or her grocery bill for the entire year.
Each year the Kent Federation of Agriculture (KFA) celebrates this day in a special way. This year we have decided to again, coordinate local food donations to both Salvation Army and Outreach for Hunger in Chatham-Kent.
We were wondering if your organization would like to partner with us on this initiative. Our plans are to visit Salvation Army and Outreach for Hunger on Food Freedom Day with some local product such as local meat, fruit and vegetables. Since the average Canadian has earned enough income in approximately 40 days to pay for their groceries for the entire year, we feel that it is worth celebrating by sharing our good fortune with those in need. We are hoping your organization would be willing to donate towards this project and in return your name would be reflected on the media releases and you would be invited to the media event on Friday, February 9th, 2018. We are asking for donations of local food product or financial contributions which will be used to purchase local food product. Thank you for considering this request and if you would like to participate in this event please call or email us. If you have any questions or concerns please call either me or the KFA office.
The presentation will take place at The Salvation Army, 46 Orangewood Blvd., Chatham, on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 10am. This will be a wonderful photo opportunity so please let us know if you would like to participate. Any amount would be well received!
